A global outage is being reported across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp on Monday. The cause of the problem was not immediately clear. The website DownDetector reports that users have been reporting outages of the three social media and messaging apps since 11:20 a.m. EDT.  Many users were unable to load Facebook, while others had trouble refreshing their Instagram and WhatsApp feeds or sending any messages.
